Physical Education

Participation in Physical Education classes is compulsory from Nursery to Grade 12.

The general aims of the Physical Education programme are:

- to develop coordination and balance

- to improve personal fitness

- to teach team work and game skills

 Boys playing basketball

Early Years students participate in a Physical Education class once a week. These classes are taught by trained PE teachers.

Kindergarten - Grade 5 students attend one Physical Education class a week. These are taught by trained PE teachers. There is also one swimming lesson a week. These classes are taken by the class teachers. At least three adults are present and observant at all times.

Grade 6 - 12 Physical Education and Swimming classes are all taken by trained PE teachers.

Accreditation

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport

EWIS is registered with The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport to offer the National Curriculum and Exams.

WASC Accreditation

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is one of six official academic bodies responsible for the accreditation of public and private universities, colleges, secondary and elementary schools. EWIS was accredited in 2013, for six years.

Cambridge International Exam Center

At EWIS we offer CIE IGCSE/AS/A level courses and exams. CIE exams are assessed though the university of Cambridge.
